Multiverse Summit at Gamescom
Produced the largest Web3 gaming summit of its year at Gamescom in Cologne, co-run with Polygon, Avalanche and Immutable. 32 speakers across two days on the Rhine.
Numbers
- 7,000+
- Combined ecosystem leads
- 32
- Speakersacross 28 companies and four chains
Problem
Web3 gaming in that year was several chains each running its own small event for its own developers, which splits an already thin audience and makes every individual showing look marginal.
Solution
I produced it as a joint summit rather than a Saga one, co-run with Polygon, Avalanche and Immutable, at the venue the games industry already attends. Two days aboard the Blue Rhapsody on the Rhine.
Thirty-two speakers across twenty-eight companies did most of the work: Samsung, ESL FACEIT Group, Com2uS, Scopely and Mighty Bear from games, Dean Takahashi of GamesBeat from the press, The Sandbox, Consensys, Chorus One, Stardust, Beamable, Shrapnel, Merit Circle, Cross The Ages and Halliday from the ecosystem, Maven 11 and Tess Ventures from the investor side.
Analysis
Co-running with three chains you compete with is uncomfortable and it was the right call. Four ecosystems pooling their audiences produced an event the games industry turned up to. Four separate events would have produced four rooms of the already-converted.
It costs you the clean attribution. The leads came in combined across all four chains, which is why the figure here is labelled that way.
Result
The largest Web3 gaming summit of its year, with 7,000+ combined ecosystem leads across the four chains.
I would point at the speaker board before the lead count. Samsung and ESL FACEIT Group do not send people to a single chain's developer day.

The board. Samsung, ESL FACEIT and GamesBeat in the same grid as three chains Saga competes with — the argument for co-running it, in one image.
