Problem
Joule was launching at IDF and what Intel had to put on the table was a board under glass beside a spec sheet. A developer walking past learns nothing from that about what the thing is for.
Solution
Most of the work happened months before the show, getting partners like EZ-Robot far enough along that there would be working robots on the stand when the doors opened.
Analysis
The module in the case is what Intel was selling. The hexapod walking across the table is why anybody stopped walking, and a stand with only the first of those gets passed by all day.
Which moves the real deadline off the keynote and onto the partner's build schedule. That lands months earlier and sits outside your control.
